A Remorseful Ochocinco Talks Domestic Violence For Throwback Thursday

Speaking of Evelyn Lozada, another ex in her life has come out about his past with her, this time taking a little more responsibility in the part he played in their relationship. Likely triggered by Stephen A. Smith’s comments,  Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson, who married and divorced Evelyn Lozada last year, took to Twitter to open up about how domestic violence changed his life forever.

“3 seconds of anger cost me a lifetime’s worth of work” the former NFL star tweeted as he posed a photo of himself handcuffed and in jail. He continued tweeting, “I LOVE everything in sight for a reason, those few seconds I stopped doing so. Now that was a #TBT”

Ochocinco couldn’t be more right. He head-butt his reality star wife in a car and has pretty much been unemployed since the incident occurred. The news of his mistake follows him everywhere he goes now. Did Evelyn provoke him, as Stephen A Smith would imply? Ocho never once suggested that was the case. This goes hand in hand with what I was saying, domestic abuse is never a black and white issue caused by one thing and one thing only. Simply saying “don’t provoke men” will not stop women from being abused. I’m actually very happy that Chad has taken responsibility for his actions and continues to do so. That is what a MAN should do.
