A man who survived a 2012 drive by shooting in Boston testified at a pretrial hearing that he believes former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez was the shooter, according to news reports.

On July 16, 2012, two men, Daniel and Safiro, were shot and killed in a car after an incident at a Boston nightclub. Two years later, Hernandez, 27, was charged with two counts of first degree murder in the case. He was already in jail at the time, awaiting trial in the 2013 killing of Odin Lloyd.

On Tuesday, survivor Raychides took the stand and pointed toward Hernandez when asked about the gunman. When Hernandez’s attorney Jose Baez asked what the shooter looked like, the witness reportedly answered, “Looked like him,” and then said the name Hernandez.

Reports say the witness was in the car with the two men when the shooter fired several shots into it.

Hernandez is serving a life sentence without parole for the Lloyd case, for which he was convicted and sentenced in 2015. He has pleaded not guilty in the 2012 case and is presumed innocent of those charges. If convicted, he could face additional life sentences. The trial is scheduled to begin February 13.
