Accused Club Q Shooter Faces 305 Criminal Charges

Anderson Lee Aldrich

The man allegedly behind the Colorado Club Q shooting has been formally charged with 305 counts, including charges of first-degree murder, assault, and bias-motivated crimes.

Anderson Lee Aldrich, who identifies as non-binary and is accused of injuring 22 and killing 5, appeared in court Tuesday in El Paso County court. Prosecutors confirmed that the charges had been formally filed.

The shooting took place at the LGBTQ nightclub in Colorado Springs last month. Aldrich was reportedly beaten by club patrons who helped end the attack.

During his previous court appearance in November, Aldrich’s face was heavily bruised and he slurred his words when speaking, The Denver Post reported.

Initially, he was held on suspicion of five counts of first-degree murder and five hate-crime charges. As of Tuesday, those charges have totaled 305 counts that include first-degree murder and bias-motivated crime causing bodily injury.

The five people killed were Daniel Aston, Kelly Loving, Ashley Paugh, Derrick Rump, and Raymond Green Vance. Police said another 17 people suffered gunshot wounds.
