Adrien Broner is at the center of another major controversy, and this time, the internet is not holding back. The former boxing champion, who has been aggressively pursuing a career as a streamer, found himself in hot water after a broadcast with social media personality Aya Tanjali went south. The interaction left the 19-year-old creator visibly upset and ultimately caused her to cut her appearance short.
The atmosphere grew tense during a recent joint broadcast. As the pair sat together, Tanjali stood up to exit the frame, at which point Broner reached over and tapped her behind. The streamer clearly didn’t appreciate the gesture; she immediately walked away from the setup and later decided to leave the gathering entirely, signaling that the encounter had made her extremely uncomfortable.
Shortly after stepping away from the cameras, Tanjali addressed the incident directly while live streaming from outside the venue. “That has never happened to me,” she told her audience. “That’s the first time somebody actually slapped my ass or tried some shit on me. That’s crazy. I really hope he apologizes. ‘Cause I know he’s drunk. But being drunk doesn’t excuse your behavior. That’s just all around weird. I low-key wanted to cry in that moment. I’m not going to lie. That’s never happened to me, ever.”
The internet moved fast, and speculation regarding potential legal action began to circulate almost immediately. Tanjali took to her Instagram Story to squash the chatter, confirming that she is not pursuing any legal measures at this time. While she remains firm that the physical contact was completely out of line, she noted that after reviewing the footage, she believes Broner may not have intended to cause harm.
However, she stood her ground on the principle of the matter, stating, “At the same time, I still feel like no man should be putting their hands on a woman in any way that can make her uncomfortable, intentional or not.” She concluded by asking her followers to stop spreading misinformation and thanked her community for the outpouring of support.
Broner’s recent pivot to streaming has been marked by a series of erratic moments, leading to widespread concern among his fans and peers. Viewers have consistently flooded his comment sections, urging him to put down the liquor and prioritize his well-being. This is not the first instance where the athlete’s behavior toward women has sparked intense public backlash.
Tanjali has officially requested that her followers move past the speculation and has clarified her position on the incident to put rumors of a lawsuit to rest.
