Al B. Sure is mourning the loss of his beloved mother, Cassandra, who passed away following a long battle with cancer. The R&B artist shared the heartbreaking news with fans on Sunday, expressing the depth of his grief and gratitude.
“My Beloved Mom Dukes, Rest In Power. I have no words to express this feeling adequately, or what my Mother meant to me at this particular moment,” he wrote. “But wanted to say thank you all for showing her so much Love and Light in Abundance all throughout her battle with [cancer].”
In recent months, Al B. Sure had been candid about his mother’s health struggles, using his platform to bring awareness to her hospice journey. He documented their time together, including what he feared might be their “final Mother’s Day together,” a deeply emotional tribute to Cassandra.
He also extended his appreciation to all the mothers worldwide battling health issues and thanked the community of supporters who lifted them up during this difficult time.
“To all of the Moms around the globe who are going through their own health crisis,” he wrote, acknowledging the “prayer warriors that held worship services, reached out with the love, prayers, and well wishes.”
