Cassie’s husband, Alex Fine, has spoken out after a shocking video surfaced of the singer being beaten by ex-boyfriend, Diddy.
Fine penned a lengthy message on Instagram Friday, denouncing men who physically abuse women.
“Men who hit women aren’t men. Men who enable it and protect those people aren’t men. As men, violence against women shouldn’t be inevitable. Check your brothers, your friends, and your family. Our daughters, sisters, mothers, and wives should feel protected and loved,” the post read in part.
In the caption, Fine did not speak directly to the video of his wife being assaulted. However, he did express his desire to keep the women in his family safe.
“Wrote this awhile back but the words ring true not just today but everyday. I want my kids and every kid to live in a world that’s safe for women and girls, protects them, and treats them as equals. To the women and children, you’re not alone, and you are heard,” he noted before adding the phone number to the domestic violence hotline for those in need of help.
He has long advocated for Cassie, who sued Diddy in November 2023 for abusing her during their years together. She also claimed the Bad Boy founder sex trafficked her on several occasions, making the “Me & U” singer participate in sex with other men during their nearly decade-long relationship. Her lawsuit outlined several shocking acts, including the hotel incident that was seen in the surveillance footage released on Friday. As described, Diddy was seen chasing after Cassie, who’d fled a hotel room the two were staying in. As she reached the elevator, Diddy, wrapped in a towel, can be seen coming up behind her, grabbing her hair and slamming her onto the floor. He then kicked her twice before attempting to drag her back to the room. In another frame, he can be seen cornering her and throwing glass vases at Cassie.
