A woman who filed a civil lawsuit against NBA player Nick Young is reportedly seeking $3 million in damages, and Young is said to be preparing to fight the case in court.
According to reports, the woman, who is identified in court papers as Jane Doe, accused Young in 2011 of drugging and sexually assaulting her after the two met at a Hollywood bar. Authorities did not file criminal charges in that matter. In 2013 she filed a civil suit alleging sexual battery.
Young has denied the allegations. His attorneys have said DNA testing showed his DNA did not match the evidence collected from the woman, and they argued that this should be enough to have the lawsuit dismissed. The case had not been dismissed as of this report.
The reports say the woman is now seeking $3 million for damages including emotional distress and lost earnings, that Young has refused to pay, and that a trial date is set for later this month.
These are allegations and denials in a civil case. Young has not been convicted of any crime, and nothing has been proven in court.
