Former NBA star Allen Iverson is facing accusations from his ex wife, Tawanna Iverson, according to court documents reported by TMZ. Tawanna filed papers asking a judge to order Iverson to return the couple’s five children after a trip.
According to the filing, Iverson asked to take the children on a short vacation to Charlotte, North Carolina, from May 22 to May 26. Tawanna agreed, but she says the children were not returned on May 26. She also claims she arranged a drop off at a neutral location on June 4 and that Iverson did not show up. The children range in age from 3 to 16, and Tawanna says she has sole legal and physical custody. She reportedly believes he kept them at a hotel in Georgia rather than taking them to Charlotte.
Iverson has denied his ex wife’s allegations. When a photographer approached him in Georgia, he reportedly said, “They say I stole my own kids?” and added that he was not going to elaborate. TMZ also reported that the children were later returned to their mother, and that Iverson told a Georgia judge Tawanna had access to the children while they stayed with him.
