Atlanta Rapper Alley Boy Reportedly Passes Away Following Kidney Failure Battle

Atlanta legend Alley Boy has reportedly passed away, sending shock waves through the Southern hip-hop community.

Alley Boy reportedly died on Sunday following prolonged kidney problems. Ralo, Rocko, Hot Boy Turk, DJ Scream, and Big Bank were among the people within hip-hop who shared tributes after news of his reported passing began circulating.

Black screen with a white rounded tombstone icon and the message: “We don’t wanna see nothing but Alleyboy on our timeline today. Show him love and although he gone let’s keep him alive…”

Turk shared his “Go Up” collab, which features Alley Boy. He captioned it, “Man listening to that@perspektiveswithbank interview with alleyboy_don So Prophetic Bruh bigbankatl He Needed Dat Peace Bruh And You Right That N***a Was Like PAC #GOUP IN PEACE MOBB.”

The tributes carry significant weight because they are coming from people connected to the Atlanta music community where Alley Boy built his name.

The reports of his passing have also brought renewed attention to Alley Boy’s brutally honest conversations about his health. Before the tragic news surfaced, the rapper openly discussed living with kidney failure, undergoing dialysis, and needing a kidney transplant.

During a March 2025 interview with A Humble Soul, Alley Boy connected his kidney failure to his past codeine addiction. The interview was titled “I Was Killing Myself Slowly,” reflecting the seriousness with which he described the damage caused by years of drinking lean.

“I got kidney failure from drinking codeine,” he stated bluntly.

In another chat with Dirty Glove Bastard, Alley Boy warned others against the dangers of drinking lean. He also discussed high blood pressure and did not dress up the consequences or turn the conversation into a performance.

Lean has been referenced in rap music for decades, but Alley Boy offered a look at what could happen after the music stopped, the parties ended, and the body was left dealing with years of damage. His testimony turned a private medical battle into a warning for people who may have viewed codeine as harmless or simply part of the culture.

Alley Boy emerged as an important voice from Atlanta’s Zone 6 and became closely associated with Duct Tape Entertainment. He built a catalog rooted in street experiences, hard lessons, survival, and the principles that shaped his environment. Alley Boy served as a co-CEO of Duct Tape Entertainment, the imprint connected to Big Bank. The label became part of Atlanta’s street rap identity and helped introduce listeners to artists whose music reflected life beyond the polished version of the city often presented to mainstream audiences.

His catalog included projects such as “Definition of F**k S**t” and “The Gift of Discernment.” The latter featured collaborations with artists including Pusha T, Big K.R.I.T., and Yo Gotti.  Additionally, Alley Boy has worked wth Future, Master P, 21 Savage, and Young Thug.

Those connections reflected his position within Atlanta rap, but his influence was always bigger than a list of features. Alley Boy represented a generation of artists who built loyal audiences through mixtapes, street DVDs, local relationships, and music that traveled before streaming numbers became the industry’s favorite measurement.

The Alley Boy death reports arrive as Atlanta continues to grieve a growing list of influential voices connected to the city’s rap history. For Duct Tape Entertainment supporters, the reported loss feels especially heavy because Alley Boy was not simply an artist on the roster. He helped carry the movement’s identity and remained connected to the community that shaped its sound.
