Three people have been charged in connection with Molotov cocktail attacks on NYPD vehicles in Brooklyn during the George Floyd protests over the weekend, according to federal authorities and local news reports. Everything below is an allegation, and none of the three has been convicted.

Federal prosecutors allege that Colinford, 32, was driving a tan minivan with Urooj, 31, in the passenger seat. Both are attorneys. Authorities say Urooj threw a firebomb at an empty NYPD vehicle outside the 88th Precinct station house in Fort Greene early Saturday, and that the pair was stopped a short time later. Both face charges of possession of explosive device components.

The law firm Pryor Cashman confirmed that Colinford is an associate there and said he has been furloughed since April because of the coronavirus crisis. A magistrate judge ordered both attorneys released to home confinement on a $250,000 bond with electronic monitoring. A preliminary hearing is set for June 12. We did not find a public statement from either of them at the time of publication.

In a separate incident, the FBI says Samantha, 27, threw a firebomb at an occupied NYPD vehicle at about 1:12 a.m. Saturday in Brooklyn. Four officers were inside, and the FBI says the device shattered two windows and damaged the vehicle. According to the complaint, she bit an officer on the leg while being handcuffed and, after waiving her Miranda rights, told authorities she threw the device. A magistrate judge ordered her held without bail until her preliminary hearing, which is also set for June 12. A response from her was not available at the time of publication.

Baller Alert will keep following the case as more details come out.
