Miami police have arrested a Pompano Beach woman accused of using nightlife as a cover to drug and rob unsuspecting men. Authorities say 25-year-old Angelina Chenel Esty was taken into custody Wednesday, linked to a Brickell apartment theft that mirrors previous accusations against her.
Investigators say Esty and another woman met two men at Blackbird Ordinary on August 9th. The group later returned to an upscale apartment along Brickell Bay Drive.
By morning, one man realized he had been cleaned out. “He reported a Rolex worth $20,000, $4,000 in cash, and his friend’s imitation Rolex all missing,” said a Miami detective familiar with the case. The second victim also noticed a $500 Cash App charge he didn’t authorize.
“The victims didn’t remember much, and that’s a red flag,” police said, noting they suspect drugs were used to impair the men’s memory. Surveillance video from the bar helped identify Esty, and police say she was later confirmed by one of the victims in a lineup.
“This isn’t her first time,” officers confirmed. “We’ve seen this pattern before, and it’s playing out again.”
Esty is now charged with burglary of an occupied dwelling and grand theft. She was previously arrested in May under similar circumstances involving high-end venues like E11EVEN and the Fontainebleau.
Police warn the scheme is spreading, with tourists and professionals increasingly targeted for their designer watches and digital wallets. Esty remains in custody at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
