Another one of Kamala Harris’s employees is bowing out due to dysfunction in the office.

Vincent Evans is the latest employee to leave and was the deputy director of public engagement and intergovernmental affairs. He has accepted a role at Capitol Hill instead.

This isn’t one of the first employees to leave the VP office. There have been speculations of toxicity in the VP office. Due to Harris’s harsh criticism, other employees have resigned and have called her a “bully.” In a report last month, one employee cited their resignation over her “soul-destroying criticism.”

Harris’ chief spokesperson Symone Sanders departed last month. The communications director, Ashley Etienne, and director of press operations, Peter Velz, also resigned.

However, Evans says he is still on great terms with the VP, and his resignation had nothing to do with the previous departures. Instead, he will be joining the Congressional Black Caucus. It is chaired by Rep. Joyce Beatty and advocates for minorities.

He says, “I am deeply honored to be named the executive director of the Congressional Black Caucus.”

He continues, “I started my career in Washington working for a member of the CBC, so I know firsthand the tremendous leadership and impact this caucus has in Congress and across the country.”

Evans worked with Harris leading up to the 2020 election and during the presidential transition.
