Once again, an Eminem impersonator is scamming Michigan citizens out of their money.
Detroit’s Local 4 news team recently reported that an Eminem impersonator has been seeking out donations for Toys For Tots charity.
If residents didn’t have toys to donate, the scammer told them to provide their personal information and credit card number so purchases could be made on their behalf.
This isn’t the first time someone tried to impersonate the Detroit rapper.
In February, a man reported a scammer pretending to be the rapper, offering to help pay for his injured nephew’s medical bills.
A few months later, another impersonator allegedly asked people outside of the state to schedule private concerts with him in an attempt to get their personal information.
It’s unclear if the three incidents are related, but we do know the impersonators are not connected to the rapper.
In fact, Eminem does have a real charitable organization called The Marshall Mathers Foundation. However, the foundation was not involved in the schemes and is actively working with authorities to resolve the crime.
Eminem nor his team have commented on the incident.
