Antonio Brown Officially Files Grievances Against The Patriots and The Raiders For More Than $40M

The NFLPA has officially filed a grievance on behalf of Antonio Brown against the Oakland Raiders and New England Patriots, looking to recoup about $40 million in guarantees.

According to NFL Network reporter Ian Rappaport, an arbitrator likely won’t hear the case until spring, and there will be has been described as an “uphill battle” for him to recoup the funds.

As his playing career is on an indefinite hold while the NFL investigates him for accusations in a civil suit of rape and sexual assault, free agent Brown and his legal team now turn their focus and attention to the courts.

Brown’s appeal is looking to recover more than $30 million from the Raiders, including guarantees from 2019 and 2020 totaling $29 million, along with a $1 million signing bonus, $860,294 for a week of salary and $215,000 in fines.

He’s also seeking a $9 million signing bonus from the Patriots, along with $1 million in base salary and $64,062 for a Week 1 check.

The grievances, which total more than $40 million, were officially filed Friday afternoon.
