Ariana Grande has reportedly canceled her Grammys performance and will no longer attend the awards after producers refused her request to sing her hit song “7 Rings.”

Insiders told Variety, Grande felt “insulted” when the event producers told her “Thank you, Next.”

Following the initial disagreement, producers gave in to her demands and reached a compromise. They agreed that she could sing the new single from her album which comes out this Friday (two days before the Grammy Awards) but only as a part of a medley. But when show producers then added a stipulation that they could choose the other songs featured– Ariana pulled out, leaving them scrambling with the show only four days away.

Ariana is nominated for two Grammy awards, Best Pop Vocal Performance for “God Is a Woman” and Best Pop Vocal Album for 2018’s “Sweetener.”

According to Variety’s source, “no such stipulation was imposed on any other performers at the show.” And reps for the Grammys did not immediately offer any comment on the matter.

Losing her could put a huge dent in the awards telecast, as Grande has been heavily promoted in the show’s advertisements as one of the biggest names and her music is currently breaking streaming records worldwide.

The Grammys will air live on Sunday, February 10, 2019, at 8 PM on CBS.
