Arizona Mother Accused Of Assaulting Kids

An Arizona mother is facing criminal charges after she called authorities on Saturday night to say she hit one of her children in the face.

Sarah Michelle Boone, 32, was taken into police custody for child abuse and disorderly conduct. According to PEOPLE, Boone told police she hit one child in the face, kicked another, and picked up a third child by the neck at her home located in Wickenburg.

Court documents obtained by WMAZ says the incident occurred after the children refused to wear their masks despite testing positive for the coronavirus.

Boone left the scene before authorities showed up, but officers found her walking down a nearby street shortly after.

According to police, she ignored their orders to stop and assaulted them when they tried to arrest her. Police used a stun gun to subdue her, PEOPLE reports

She was transported to Maricopa County Jail and released after posting a $5,000 bond.

She is due back in court on January 6.
