Arkansas Police Chief Resigns After Calling For Violence After Joe Biden’s Election Victory

Following the presidential election, an Arkansas police chief posted several messages on a social media site seemingly urging individuals to attack “Marxist” Democrats over the presidential election, ultimately leading to his resignation, the mayor said.

Mayor of Marshall, Kevin Elliot, stated that he “condemned” the comments made by Police Chief Lang Holland in a statement on Saturday.

“The Marshall community does not in any way support or condone bullying or threats of violence to anyone of any political persuasion,” he said. “We are a welcoming community that is humbly working to build a bright future for ALL our citizens.”

After Elliot spoke with lawyers regarding Holland’s posts on Parler, he met with the former police chief, who resigned effective immediately. Although the posts were no longer visible to viewers on Sunday, KARK, an NBC affiliate of Little Rock, posted screenshots of a few of them on their site.

“When this over and Trump is president for 4 more years,” one post said, “do not forget what these Marxist bastards have tried to do. When you see one in public get in their face, do not give them any peace. Throw water on them at restaurants. Push them off sidewalks. Never let them forget they are traitors and have no right to live in this Republic after what they have done.”

The previous mention post and several others were first posted by The Ozarks Coalition, which monitors hate groups in Arkansas. Quinn Foster, a member of the group. Said that a tipster flagged the post on Saturday morning. The group had originally planned to protest at City Hall but opted out after Holland resigned.
