The arrest warrant for Bengals running back, Joe Mixon, has been dismissed…at least for now.

On Thursday, an arrest warrant was issued for Mixon for allegedly pointing a gun at a woman during a road rage incident on January 21st.  Mixon allegedly told the woman”You should be popped in the face, I should shoot you, the police can’t get me.”

However, less than 24 hours later after the warrant was issued, the aggravated menacing charge was dismissed. Prosecutors were requesting a dismissal under the pretense that an “additional investigation” was necessary.

Upon signing the entry of dismissal, Hamilton County Judge Curt Kissinger said in a hearing on Friday morning that “the warrant will be recalled subject to further filing by the City of Cincinnati.”

Peter Schaffer, Mixon’s rep, stated that the court filing,”was a rush to judgment.”

“I really feel that police have an obligation before they file charges — because of the damage that can be done to the person’s reputation — to do their work,” Schaffer added.

There is a possibility that the warrant may be refiled at a later time, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. In addition, prosecutors added that the victim would move forward with the charge if a refiling happens.

Mixon was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in 2017 and has spent the past six seasons as the team’s running back. In this past season, Mixon snagged 814 yards and seven touchdowns during the regular season.
