More than a dozen HBCUs reported bomb threats on the first day of Black History Month.

Jackson State University, Howard University, Coppin State University, Mississippi Valley State University, Morgan State University, Alcorn State University, Tougaloo College, Kentucky State University, Fort Valley State University, Xavier University, University of the District of Columbia, Spelman College and Edward Waters University all reported bomb threats Tuesday.

Just yesterday, several HBCUs, including Howard, reported similar threats and were forced into lockdown and postponed classes.

“All-clear” alerts were issued at Howard, Kentucky State, Jackson State, the University of the District of Columbia, Tougaloo College and Coppin State after threats were found to be unsubstantiated.

The FBI reported both Monday and Tuesday that it was taking action after the latest string of threats.

“The FBI is aware of the series of bomb threats around the country and we are working with our law enforcement partners to address any potential threats,” the FBI said.
