Thursday, law enforcement officials confirmed that at least one person had been arrested in connection with the overdose death of ‘Friends’ star Matthew Perry.

According to law enforcement sources, Perry was found unresponsive at his Pacific Palisades home on October 28, 2023. The 54-year-old actor was discovered face down in the heated end of his pool.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office later confirmed that Perry’s death was caused by the acute effects of ketamine, a powerful anesthetic known for its psychedelic properties. This revelation prompted an intense investigation by Los Angeles police, who have been working closely with federal authorities to trace the source of the drug that contributed to Perry’s death.

On Thursday morning, at least one person was arrested in Southern California in connection with the case. Sources indicate that federal prosecutors are expected to unseal an indictment detailing the charges against this individual, along with others who may have been involved.

Ketamine, often known as a party drug, has been gaining attention in recent years for its potential therapeutic benefits, particularly in treating depression and anxiety. Perry had been undergoing ketamine infusion therapy to help manage his mental health, but his last treatment occurred over a week before his death. The medical examiner highlighted that the ketamine found in his system could not have been from his legitimate therapy sessions due to the drug’s short half-life, raising further questions about its origin.
