Atlanta "Veneer Specialist" Arrested for Practicing Dentistry Without a License

Brandon Dillard

Fulton County authorities have arrested Brandon Dillard, a man who has been presenting himself as Atlanta’s top veneer specialist, despite having no license to practice dentistry or medicine. According to the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office, Dillard has been performing dental procedures, including veneers, without the required credentials for years.

“Brandon Dillard is not a dentist. He’s never been a dentist. And as much as he may want to play one on Instagram, he is not one,” said Fulton County Deputy District Attorney Will Wooten.

On Thursday, district attorney investigators and Atlanta police raided Dillard’s business, “A List Smiles Atlanta,” located in Northeast Atlanta. Despite the company’s impressive Instagram following of over 157,000 and its operation since 2021, authorities claim Dillard has been illegally offering veneer services that only licensed dentists in Georgia can perform.

The clinic’s Instagram featured posts of patients flaunting their new smiles, along with promotions for $5,500 veneer raffles. But what appeared to be a reputable business was, according to the DA’s office, a front for illegal operations. District Attorney Fani Willis noted the severity of the issue: “This is an illegitimate operation. The problem is the consequences are to one’s health,” she explained, highlighting the dangers posed by improperly installed veneers.

Dillard now faces eight felony charges, including practicing dentistry and medicine without a license, as well as theft by deception. On top of that, he’s accused of running “training sessions” for individuals eager to become “Veneer Specialists,” charging over $6,000 per session. However, in Georgia, there is no such thing as a legal veneer specialist or technician.

It was also revealed that Dillard has trained people from all over the country to perform these illegal procedures. “Many, many people paid this defendant to receive training on how to do this illegal conduct,” said Willis. She considers the trainees to be victims for now but warns that they will face criminal charges if they continue to practice without a license.

Authorities are urging both patients and trainees who were affected by Dillard’s operation to come forward. Willis emphasized the serious health risks tied to improper veneer procedures, such as infections and long-term dental damage. Several licensed dentists, both from Georgia and out of state, have already reported concerns about patients who received services at “A List Smiles Atlanta.”

If you believe you were a patient or trained by Dillard, you are encouraged to contact the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office at Fcda.fraudtips@fultoncountyga.gov.
