Patti LaBelle is being sued by a West Point cadet who says her bodyguards beat him outside a Houston airport.
According to the New York Daily News, the incident happened March 11 and was caught on video. The 23 year old military academy senior, Richard, was talking on his cell phone outside the airport near where LaBelle’s limousine was parked. His lawsuit claims LaBelle thought he was too close to her luggage, rolled down her window and told her bodyguards to handle it.
The video shows the young man being hit several times. He tries to get away but falls more than once.
He is now suing the singer over the attack. LaBelle has not commented publicly on the lawsuit.
Patti is a legend, but if that video shows what the lawsuit says it does, this is not the kind of diva moment anybody wants to see.
