Rapper Azealia Banks is under intense fire this week after a series of tweets defending Donald Trump in relation to alleged past sexual involvement with underage girls. The tweets, which circulated rapidly across social media, included explicit language and controversial claims about what Banks described as “cultural norms” around teenage sex in earlier decades.
In her posts, Banks argued that sexual relationships between adult men and teenage girls were once socially accepted, claiming the shift in public attitude didn’t happen until the 1990s. “I’m honestly not surprised or mad at Trump for getting some 15-year-old p***y because those were the times,” she wrote.
Banks went on to reference her own family history and personal experiences, claiming she was “old enough to choose” to sleep with grown men at 15. She insisted her comments weren’t meant to encourage such behavior today, but instead to “put things in perspective.”
The situation escalated when Banks tweeted additional inflammatory remarks, including offensive language directed at young Latina girls and a dismissive stance on the Jeffrey Epstein sex trafficking scandal. In a follow-up tweet, she wrote, “FORGET ABOUT THE EPSTEIN FILES WHO CARES.”
In a separate post, Banks turned her attention to the LGBTQ community, using homophobic slurs while accusing gay men of being overly judgmental and hypocritical in their criticism of her views.
This isn’t the first time Banks has caused outrage with her online behavior, but many are calling this her most disturbing public moment yet.
