Azealia Banks has never been one to bite her tongue, and this time, she’s turning that energy toward herself. The Harlem rapper took to Twitter to express regret over her past vote for Donald Trump, admitting it was a serious misstep.
“Ok I think it’s time everyone who voted for Trump admit that we made a f**king mess,” she wrote, in a candid tweet that quickly caught fire. She followed it up by calling the current state of the country “an absolute disaster.”
Banks, publicly voted for Trump during the 2024 election.
In a follow-up post, Banks described Trump as “petty and vindictive,” and questioned how someone with so much influence could behave so irresponsibly. “Not when the wellbeing and livelihood of billions of people — damn near the entire world — lay in your hands,” she wrote.
She went on to say Trump needs a “cute little lorazepam Rx and a high-grade ashwagandha supplement,” taking a jab at his mental fitness and emotional stability.
“Old white men need to reinvent the archetype because it’s too predictable,” she added, criticizing what she sees as outdated, ineffective leadership. “Like China is just DUNKING on everyone right now.”
