Jose Reyes of the New York Mets is getting called out by his baby mama, singer Christina Sanchez, for being an absent father.
Sanchez took to Twitter Sunday morning to air out Reyes, her married baby daddy. “You’re a worthless piece of shit father to our child and she’ll grow up knowing how much of a coward you chose to be,” she tweeted. “Liyah just asked about you again & I had to explain to her that it’s a cruel world we live in… you are a cruel man !!!”
According to Sanchez, she is upset with her ex because now that he is in a dysfunctional marriage, he’s taking things out on their daughter. “You used to see her all the time and you just expect her to forget ? A father is supposed to be a father no matter what!! Your dysfunctional marriage shouldn’t hold you back from being a father!!! I’m done.”
Jose Reyes didn’t respond, but it’s quite possible Christina was set off after he tweeted, “Happiness isn’t about getting what you want all the time. It’s about loving what you have and being grateful for it.” Christina’s mini-rant came literally three minutes after his tweet.
Jose Reyes has been married to his wife, Katherine Ramirez, since 2008. They also have at least one child together. That same year Reyes was rumored to be having an affair with a model named Bentley Matthews. His agent called those allegations an “absurd, trashy story.” It’s unknown when he started dealing with Christina, but by 2011 she had already had his daughter, as there were several reports he had been visiting Philadelphia to see his child. To make a long story short, the entire time Reyes has been married, it appears he hasn’t been uber faithful.
On Halloween of last year, Reyes was arrested for allegedly pushing his wife into a glass door of a hotel room in Hawaii. According to reports, the two were arguing in their Four Seasons room when he grabbed her off the bed and shoved her, then gripped her by the throat and pushed her into a glass door. This could be the “dysfunction” Christina is referring to.
On the flip side of things, it appears Christina is in a relationship with a Swedish model by the name of Dave Lilja and continues to raise her daughter. However, she’s not without her pettiness either, because on Instagram she refers to her daughter as the prettiest of Reyes’ children and says that’s why her daughter’s “evil stepmother” doesn’t want her around.
According to Christina, Reyes tried to pay her over $600k to stay quiet about their “hush baby.”
It’s sad that children are involved. Hopefully every one can get on the same page.
