Federal prosecutors in New York say a former Bad Girls Club cast member used a man’s debit card after his death. Shannade Clermont was arrested and charged with wire fraud, access device fraud and aggravated identity theft, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York.
According to prosecutors, Shannade met a man in 2017 and was with him in the hours before he was found dead in his apartment the next morning. Authorities say the man died of a drug overdose, and investigators recovered his phone and wallet. A doorman reportedly told investigators that the woman who visited gave her name as Audrey.
Prosecutors allege that Shannade then used the man’s debit card to spend about $20,000 on rent, phone bills, flights and online shopping, including clothing and other merchandise.
U.S. Attorney Geoffrey Berman said that her “new reality is federal prosecution.”
Shannade, who has also worked as a model for Yeezy, has not publicly responded to the charges as far as Baller Alert can tell. These are allegations, and she is presumed innocent unless and until she is proven guilty in court.
