One viral video can change a person’s life overnight, and for a man named Chris, it may have opened the door to a boxing career.
Chris was recorded in a heated argument at a Long Island bagel shop last week, and the clip spread widely online. It drew a lot of criticism, and a customer who said she was there shared her account of the incident on Twitter.
According to TMZ, Chris signed a deal on Monday with fight promoter Damon Feldman to take part in celebrity style boxing matches against other people who became famous online. Chris reportedly told the outlet he is confident he can get in the ring with anyone, despite his smaller frame.
His first bout is reportedly set for September 7 in Atlantic City, though no opponent has been confirmed. Feldman suggested Chris could face another social media star, such as Antoine Dodson. TMZ also reported that if streaming and ticket sales are strong, the payday could reach five to six figures.
Whether the bagel shop moment was planned or just a bad morning caught on camera, the ring may be where Chris wants to take the spotlight next. We will see if the matchup becomes official.
