Last week, a truck filled with Nike Air Force Ones and Christian Louboutins reportedly turned up in a Chicago neighborhood.

According to Vox, the truck was seen at several city locations, including near a basketball court in the Englewood neighborhood, half-open, loaded with luxury products.

Upon the truck’s arrival in the predominantly black community, local activists deemed it a “bait truck” placed by law officials to trap potential robbers.

Through the years, law officials in America have used such tactics in an attempt to reduce crime across the country. However, thanks to the newly reformed Civil Rights movement and its fight against social injustice, anti-black policing and disproportionate incarceration rates, the residents in Chicago are fighting back against the longstanding tactic.

In the meantime, the Chicago field office of the FBI and the Chicago Police Department both declined to provide a comment on the matter.
