Baller Alert first shared claims from this same source in March 2013, long before the story hit headlines. On September 12, 2014, TMZ named Houston rapper Hefe Wine as the man connected to an alleged video being offered to Vivid Entertainment, and the details line up with what a man told Baller Alert back then.
Here is the record. In March 2013, a Baller Alert editor posted in the site’s discussion forum about a conversation with a man who described himself as a former boyfriend and business associate of Iggy Azalea. His name was not shared at the time. He claimed they met when she was 18, that he helped launch her rapping career, and that the two later had a falling out over business and money. Baller Alert said then, and says again now, that it could not confirm how much of his account was accurate. All we could confirm was what he told us. Iggy Azalea has not confirmed any of it.
According to TMZ, Hefe Wine is the man behind the alleged footage. Hefe Wine denied sending any clip to Vivid and said his computer was stolen a couple of months earlier. TMZ reported that he also made clear he was open to a deal. He said Iggy was not 17 in anything he has, because he did not meet her until she was 18.
The other side has been firm. Iggy’s representatives said it was categorically not her in the video in question. Her lawyers later said they had not seen any footage and that anything of this kind would have come from a spurned former business associate looking to damage her career, and would have been recorded without her knowledge. Vivid said it was doing its due diligence. At the time, nothing had been verified publicly, and no video had been released.
Baller Alert is glad the account we shared in 2013 was taken seriously by others. We will keep you posted as this develops.
