One day before the 2017 BET Hip Hop Awards, Baller Alert hosted a private star-studded event, Bowl With a Baller. During the event, Baller Alert correspondent Paigion, sat down with Lil’ Mo to discuss her casting on the New York installment of the “Love & Hip Hop” franchise.

The songstress and her husband will be appearing on season 8 of “Love & Hip Hop New York” to provide an inside look into their family, as we approach her 20th year in the game.

“If I can make it in New York, I can make it anywhere. When I first left home at 17-years-old, and started touring I went to New York. I went back to New York, that’s where I was born and raised with my father being ex-military we lived in Texas, Atlanta, we were in Fayetteville, NC, and we finally planted ourselves in Ft. Meade, MD.”

Although Mo’s fans know her as a Baltimore girl, she needed a platform to release new music as she comes up on the anniversary of her music career. So, when Mona Scott-Young’s call came in, she was open to the idea, especially since Mo had been working with Mona for almost 20 years as well.

Mo then introduced her husband, and the two discussed their experience on Love and Hip Hop and overcoming the negative connotations that come along with the franchise.

“A lot of people automatically thought, when the announcement was finally made, they were like ‘Oh, I already know,’ they automatically think that somebody have to fight and I just was like ‘Just wait and see,’” adding that her and her family will stick to their story and show their real lives.
