Baller Alert Exclusive. Baller Alert was first to report a sourced account of the backstage altercation that followed August Alsina’s performance at the State Of Emergency 2 concert in St. Louis. Many people online were guessing about what happened, and here is what our sources told us at the time.
According to Baller Alert’s sources, trouble started over the show lineup. August was reportedly set to perform after Migos, but the group missed their flight, so he went on first. Sources said August had arranged a live band at the last minute and that the show ran behind schedule. When Migos did arrive, our sources say August was unhappy and exchanged words with a promoter named Slim, telling him he had been played. August’s security was reportedly part of the back and forth, and onlookers said it looked like things could turn physical.
Our sources say Slim then swung at August. The last thing captured on video shows August’s security breaking things up before the clip cuts off. According to sources, things calmed down for a short time before the situation flared up again and August’s security and others got involved. Sources say police then arrived and the show continued as planned, with the exception of a performance by Fabolous. Sources also said August did not leave the venue until a police escort was present.
This is the account Baller Alert’s sources gave us, and it should be read as one side of a disputed story. Video of parts of the incident was circulating online, and we had not received a statement from either August or Slim when we first reported it.
