Today’s New Music Friday may be one of the most highly anticipated for fans of hip-hop and R&B, as it marks the release of GloRilla and Rod Wave’s long-awaited albums.
First up is GloRilla, who has introduced her debut album, “Glorious.” Fans were met with the 15-track project days after the feature and tracklist were unveiled. It includes Sexyy Red, BossMan DLow, Latto, and the most talked about, Kirk Franklin. He, along with Kierra Sheard, Chandler Moore, and Maverick City Music, are featured on the record “Rain Down On Me.” “Glorious” also adds another Megan Thee Stallion collaboration to the mix with “How I Look.”

Elsewhere, Rod Wave has fed his fans with “Last Lap.” The 23-track project follows his September 2023 “Nostalgia.” However, much to fans’ disappointment, the song with Drake that Wave previewed in recent weeks is nowhere to be found on the album. It’s likely he could release a deluxe with this single. For now, Lil Baby, Lil Yachty, and Rylo Rodriguez join the Florida singer on “Last Lap.”
GloRilla and Wave aren’t the only big names that drop notable music today. Rich The Kid, Tyla, and several others delivered tunes perfect for the weekend.
