Gia Allemand, a former contestant on Season 14 of “The Bachelor” and the girlfriend of New Orleans Pelicans player Ryan Anderson, has died at 29, TMZ reported on Wednesday.

Earlier this week, it was reported that Gia had been rushed to a New Orleans hospital in critical condition. Her family described it only as a serious medical emergency, and no further details were released. According to TMZ, she had been hospitalized since Monday and was placed on life support. TMZ reports that her mother and Ryan were at her side when she died, after life support was withdrawn.

TMZ also reported that the cause of death was suicide, and that Ryan found Gia at her home Monday night. TMZ said she suffered a critical loss of brain and organ function.

Vienna Girardi, who won that season, told TMZ: “Gia was a beautiful girl and an unbelievable friend.”

Our thoughts are with Gia’s family, friends and Ryan during this very difficult time. If you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out to a trusted person or call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 800 273 8255.
