Benzino is reminding folks that he still raps after longtime rival Eminem came after him in a new freestyle.
The former owner of The Source has fired back with his diss track, “Vulturius,” in response to Em’s “Doomsday Pt. 2.” In Zino’s record, which uses Jay-Z’s “Where I From” beat, he takes aim at Em for a list of things including beefing with artists who aren’t hip-hop musicians. He also alludes to Em being a racist, which is part of the reason they began beefing in the early 2000s.
“Candy-a*s Eminem, b***h-a*s feminine/Mad he lack melanin, all Valium’d up again/Awe s**t, here we go, Benzino vs. Jim Crow/Know a crusty when I see one, how many times you overdose/You a punk, plan my funeral? Please, you shoot who?/ Square ain’t even go circle the block for Proof,” Zino rapped.
Their feud dates back nearly 20 years when Benzino and The Source leaked audio of Em using the N-word multiple times. The Detroit rapper would later apologize for the recording, but the damage was done. The outlet, Benzino and Eminem, faced a wave of backlash, which partially contributed to Zino leaving the outlet that he helped establish. The men have exchanged words throughout the years. In the freestyle, the “Love & Hip-Hop Atlanta” alum suggests that Eminem’s former wife, Kim Scott, formerly known as Kim Mathers, sue him in a similar lawsuit as the one brought forth by Cassie towards her ex, Diddy. The pair were together from the 1990s through the 2000s and hurled accusations of drug use and abuse towards one another during and after their split.
Em has not responded to Benzino’s response track, but a reply is expected.
