Bill Cosby responds to ‘We Need To Talk About Cosby’ docuseries accusations and calls it a “PR hack.”
The four-part, four-hour-long docuseries will dive into the sexual allegations that over 60 women made throughout six decades. Cosby has since caught wind of the series and sends a few words to the critics.
“Mr. Cosby has spent more than 50 years standing with the excluded; made it possible for some to be included; standing with the disenfranchised; and standing with those women and men who were denied respectful work because of race and gender within the expanses of the entertainment industries,” a Cosby representative said in a statement that he referred to as a “PR hack.”
The rep. added that Cosby “continues to be the target of numerous media that have, for too many years, distorted and omitted truths… intentionally.”
The docuseries will take a closer look at the allegations made against Cosby. Bill was accused of drugging and assaulting women from the 1960s to the early 2000s. The series will feature audio and footage of Bill making jokes about drugging women early in his career. Viewers will also get to see multiple Cosby survivors give their firsthand experiences with the comedian.
In 2018, Bill was convicted of sexual assault. He spent more than two years behind bars before getting out on an appeal in June 2021. After the sentencing, Cosby called the judge prejudice and said the case was “the most racist and sexist trial in the history of the United States.”
