5 Black Male Celebrities Who Have Publicly Endorsed Kamala Harris for President

In her bid for the presidency, Kamala Harris has been challenged and criticized for her approach to gaining the Black male vote.

Some of these reservations stem from Harris’ history as the San Francisco district attorney before her White House endeavors. Days ago, Barack Obama only fueled social media conversation when he spoke with Black male voters about the importance of voting for Harris. She has made great efforts to reach this voting group, sitting down with Charlamagne Tha God and “All the Smoke” co-hosts Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson.  They, along with several other notable Black men, have thrown their support behind Harris and are urging others to do the same. The endorsements from these Black male celebrities not only amplify Harris’ presidential campaign but also highlight the critical role that culture and entertainment play in shaping political narratives.

As the presidential election inches closer, here’s a look at several influential Black male celebrities, each utilizing their platforms to rally support for Harris’ campaign.

Usher
Grammy-winning artist Usher has been vocal about his support for Kamala Harris. He spoke at her October 19th rally in Atlanta.

Tyler Perry
Filmmaker and actor Tyler Perry has also shown his support for President Joe Biden and Harris. Known for his philanthropic efforts and commitment to social justice, many of his ideologies align with the presidential hopeful. He was in attendance for her Thursday concert and rally in Atlanta. Other stars, such as Samuel L. Jackson and Obama, were also present.

John Legend
Singer-songwriter John Legend has been an advocate for women’s abortion rights since his wife, Chrissy Teigen, was forced to have a life-saving abortion at 20 weeks. Reproductive healthcare is something that Harris has long been passionate about, so it’s no surprise that Legend would be supportive of Harris. Even before Biden or Harris was elected, Legend rallied around both.
