Bobby Shmurda is making it very clear that he has no love left for the heavy hitters in the rap game. The Brooklyn artist recently caused a stir during a livestream when someone asked if Jay-Z was the one running hip-hop.

Shmurda didn’t hold back at all, quickly shutting down the idea that Hov is still in charge.
“Man, f**k them n***as, n***a,” Shmurda said. “Opp Nation. He don’t run it,” he continued, referring to Jay. Things got even more intense when he brought up physical confrontation. “I’ll slap the s**t out of Jay-Z, b***h n***a. … I don’t fight, I shoot n***as.”
The rant didn’t stop there, as Shmurda moved over to his Instagram Story to talk about how people handle their business. He went in on the idea that having a billion dollars doesn’t make you a real boss if you had to snake people to get it.
“Lesson come with blessing,” he reportedly wrote in the since-expired post.
“Stealing cheating lying does not make you a Boss, Smart Or a businessman. I don’t care if you did it for a billion dollars. You still a bum. Now my point is… if a crackhead steals some millions out the trap does that not make him a crackhead anymore? Or is he now a get money N***a? I mean, ok he got the money but come on Boss/businessman.”
Shmurda also had plenty to say about the state of the New York music scene. He challenged the reputation of people who have been in the industry for over 25 years, questioning if they actually live what they rap about.
“This is the new New York,” he wrote. “They’ve been in the industry 25+ years y’all name one thing these motherfucker slid on or stood on.” He added, “We don’t play that rat s**t we only approve of certain OG’s in Ny you know who you are.” While he used the word “rat” multiple times, he didn’t call out any specific names.
It’s a wild turn of events considering that back in 2021, Shmurda signed a management deal with Roc Nation right after he got out of prison. That partnership ended about a year later, and the vibe has clearly gone south since then. In 2025, Shmurda started calling the company “Opp Nation” while talking to DJ Vlad. Now, with these latest threats and accusations, any bridge between the Brooklyn rapper and the Roc Nation camp seems to be completely gone.
