Bomani Jones Finds A New Home With Wave Sports Entertainment

Bomani Jones

One of the most notable and popular podcasts, “The Right Time,” with Bomani Jones, was a staple within ESPN’s platforms that Jones had been growing for years before and during his 20-year stint. Jones accomplished something rare for a lot of creatives that leave ESPN.

Jones leaves the Disney-branded company with the retained name of his podcast, related intellectual property, and RSS feed. In other words, if you were subscribed to the show when distributed through ESPN, you will still receive the new episodes within the same-titled podcast through your respective streaming platform.

The Emmy Award-winning commentator has come to an agreement with Wave Sports Entertainment. They are joining popular shows, including Podcast P with Paul George, RG3 and The Ones, and New Height with Jason and Travis Kelce. The first episode of the relaunch will air Monday, October 23, and stream live three days a week. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

It’s a schedule most fans will be used to, not different from the same program with Jones was with ESPN. Jones was asked about the move and where he sees this chapter going.

“I obviously worked at a big legacy media company. But I’ve also done a lot of work at various points with smaller, what used to be called, new media operations. There’s a different energy that comes when you’re in a. new media place,” Jones told Front Office Sports.

Jones mentioned that Foxworth Fridays will continue, with colleague Dominique Foxworth as well. An array of topics from Deion Sanders and their interesting football season, to the Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce media frenzy, and right in time for an NBA preview. Jones’s show will not disappoint and fans have been waiting to hear his opinion since he left from ESPN over the summer.
