Boosie is once again calling for peace in the Drake and Kendrick Lamar feud, though some people believe he’s being hypocritical.
On Monday, the “Set It Off” star took to Twitter to pen a lengthy message. In it, he criticized people for egging on the beef and seemingly being excited about the men going head-to-head. Specifically, he called out men on the timeline who were more into the rap battle than the ladies.
“I NEVER SEEN SO MANY MEN EXCITED TO SEE MEN TEARING EACH OTHER DOWN THRU MUSIC SMH, THE MEN R MORE EXCITED THAN THE WOMEN lol,” he wrote.
He also questioned whether or not people were actually looking forward to Lamar and Drake’s careers being negatively impacted by the feud.
“DO YALL WANT ALL WHAT THEY HAVE DONE FOR HIP HOP OVERSHADOWED BY RAP BEEF? THEY TALKING ABOUT CHILDREN, BABYMOMAS, DIRT ,FIANCÉS,MOLESTATION, PEDOPHILES ETC,” Boosie stated, adding that he believes neither rapper will be safe to tour in the other’s hometown.
Lamar and Drake have certainly shaken up hip-hop with their frequent exchanges, which have turned vile in recent days. Drake has accused Lamar of beating his wife, while the California artist has claimed Aubrey secretly pursues underage girls. Drake’s OVO store was also vandalized following Lamar’s latest diss, “Not Like Us.”
Neither rapper has spoken out about a cease-fire, but some fans believe Boosie is the wrong person for this message, considering his own history of drama. In 2010, he was charged with first-degree murder and faced the death penalty for the shooting death of Terry Boyd. In the years since being found not guilty, he has publicly beefed with Yung Bleu over a soured business deal. While the two have not come to blows, an argument can be made that Boosie doesn’t have room to talk regarding these things, especially considering the type of lyrics he raps.
