Boosie is facing a major crossroads in his legal battle, and he is looking toward the White House for a last minute save.
As of January 3, 2026, federal prosecutors in San Diego are officially pushing for the rapper to serve a two year prison sentence following his conviction for possessing a firearm as a felon. However, the situation is even more dire than it appears, as probation officials have countered with a recommendation for a much harsher sentence of nearly four years.
Journalist Meghann Cuniff revealed on X that Boosie is now pinning his hopes on a pardon from Donald Trump.
With only one week left until his official sentencing date, Boosie took to social media to make a direct, public plea to Trump.
In a lengthy post, the rapper argued that his current legal troubles are the result of being unfairly targeted by the Department of Justice. He pointed out the perceived double standard in the justice system, comparing his situation to the legal leniency shown to political figures.
Boosie wrote, “Trump CHECK MY CASE OUT !! MY CASE WAS DISMISSED BUT BIDENS DOJ RECHARGED ME WITH THE SAME GUN CHARGE BIDEN PARDON HIS SON OF I WAS TOLD I AM THE ONLY PERSON IN THE COUNTRY FACING THAT CHARGE NOW. PRESIDENT TRUMP, I ALREADY WAS GIVEN A 10 YEAR SENTENCE N STATE N 2009 FOR 3 rd offense MARIJUANA (grams ,grams, grams) I NEVER WAS EVEN OFFERED REHAB STRAIGHT TO PRISON. N TRUMP IM BOOSIE IM A RAPPER/ FILMMAKER FROM BATON ROUgE I Was TARGETED.. MY MOUTH N THINGS I STAND ON GET ME N ALOT SHIT BUT IM REAL!”
The “Wipe Me Down” rapper didn’t stop there, as he also addressed critics who questioned why he would seek help from Trump after previously reaching out to the Biden administration.
Boosie made it clear that when it comes to his freedom, he is willing to exhaust every possible resource. He doubled down on his right to fight for his life, firing back at his haters: “YALL SAYING I SHOULDNT ASK FOR A PARDON. SHUT THE FUCK UP .IM GO KEEP ASKING . THIS MY LIFE. I ASKED BIDEN FOR ONE MONTHS AGO NOW IM ASKING TRUMP !! WHERE IM FROM CLOSED MOUTHS DONT GET FED. MY CASE WAS ALREADY DISMISSED I DESERVE A PARDON #arguewithyamoma.”
Boosie’s attorney, Meghan Blanco, has also been vocal about the case, with the rapper noting that she has publicly criticized the charges brought against him.
