Bow Wow responds to Jermaine Dupri alleging he is the creator behind ‘106 & Park.’

On Sunday Bow Wow, also known as Shad Moss, took to Twitter to address his former So So Def label boss claiming he’s responsible for the hit music show.

“JD aint create 106&Park stop the cap,” Bow tweeted. “Stephen hill Rick Ghrimes & all the great people in the BET OFFICE & staff created that show. All i did was capitalize off of what they created and made it mine. I would know, I am mr 106! I would never take away from someones creativity.”

The response came after JD appeared on “The GAUDS Show,” and revealed the idea for the popular show was his idea. He even mentioned that he created the show for his then-artist Lil Bow Wow.

“‘106 & Park’ was created by me,” JD said. “I created the show for Bow Wow. I was watching MTV and they had ‘TRL.’ They catered to NSYNC, The Backstreet Boys, and anything white that was coming out. They were allowing the kids to scream and holler at them.”

JD says he wanted to develop a similar show to ‘TRL’ that catered to an audience of young black watchers. He also added that he approached Stephen Hill, the president of programming of BET at the time with the idea and it ultimately took off.

“I called Stephen Hill and told him that we needed a show like TRL because they wouldn’t put a 12-year-old black boy on rapping. Nobody was on TV at 12 years old causing that kind of ‘fandomonium,’” JD said.

Bow crowned himself as ‘Mr. 106 & Park’ in his 2001 hit-single “Take Ya Home.” Early on in his career, Bow made history on the show once his first 10 videos scored the number one spot on the “106 & Park” countdown.
