Deontay Wilder has had a tough start to June. After a disappointing finish to his boxing match against Zhilei Zhang, he is now being accused of domestic violence by his fiancée, Telli Swift. Two days after his knockout loss, a judge granted a restraining order to Swift over her fiancé of six years.
She claims that since 2018, the boxer choked her at least five times and, in a fit of rage, shoved her face into a pillow so long that she “almost suffocated.” She also claims that in April this year, he gained access to her laptop and shared personal and professional contracts with disturbing messages. She alleges in the report that he requires her to have sex three times a day.
She says that her belongings were periodically destroyed, and on April 15, he threw her out of their Atlanta residence even though she had just undergone invasive surgery. Since the incident, she said she has been staying with their six-year-old at their Los Angeles residence. She claimed in the report that he uses the surveillance system to keep track of what she is doing, and she is worried that he could turn violent again.
“I believe Deontay is capable of being physically violent towards me upon his return in June because he has expressed that he is furious with me since April and has been physically abusive with me in the past,” she said in the claim.
This is a situation you hope both parties can resolve. The restraining order is in effect until June 25, requiring him to stay away from his daughter and Swift. Both parties will see the judge that day.
