A video of a fight on a Spirit Airlines flight is making the rounds online, and it shows a passenger being tased by police.
According to Fox News, the fight broke out Sunday evening after a flight from Newark landed in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Passenger Carlos filmed the scene on his phone. The footage shows a woman shouting at another passenger while a person in a reflective vest, believed to be a Spirit employee, stands between them. A man is then seen grabbing the woman’s hair, and punches are thrown. Officers used a Taser on the woman before arresting her.
CBS reporter David Begnaud identified the woman as Nyasy, 24, and Telemundo reporter Marjorie Ramirez reported that her bail was set at $150,000. Begnaud reported that police described the woman as the aggressor and were considering charges.
A passenger named Alfredo told CBS that the woman and her group were not wearing masks and had switched seats during the flight. He also said three male passengers shouted homophobic and racial slurs at the group after landing. These accounts have not been independently verified, and it is not clear who started the physical fight.
Fox News reported that a Spirit Airlines representative did not immediately respond to a request for comment. No statement from the woman or her group was included in the reports.
