Former Oklahoma running back Brennan Clay says he is moving forward with a divorce just days after publicly accusing Dallas Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray of an affair with his wife, Gina.
According to TMZ, Clay said he found an old phone belonging to Gina that contained more than 50 inappropriate text messages between her and Murray, along with photos he believes the two sent each other. Clay said he felt disgusted and betrayed. He described Murray as his mentor at Oklahoma, someone he looked up to as a running back and as a friend. Clay and Gina reportedly married in July 2014.
Clay posted on Twitter on Sunday that Murray was having an affair with his wife and that he was done. He told TMZ he is meeting with lawyers about his next steps.
A representative for Murray told TMZ that he had no comment and is focused on the Bears game. TMZ did not report a response from Gina, and Clay’s claims have not been independently verified.
It is not known whether Murray and Gina have remained in contact. This is a developing story, and we will update you if either of them speaks out.
