Brett Kavanaugh Has Been Confirmed To The Supreme Court

The Senate has confirmed Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.

Following a hearing and FBI investigation into several sexual assault allegations made against Kavanaugh from various witnesses, the former Republican Supreme Court nominee has solidified his lifelong position as Supreme Court Justice.

On Saturday (Oct. 6), the Senate came to a 50-48 vote, as an uproar from protestors marched outside. One protester yelled, “I do not consent, where’s my representation.” This makes the second conservative justice to be appointed by #DonaldTrump into Supreme Court.

“He will be a great Justice of the Supreme Court,” Trump said, right before leaving the White House for a rally in Topeka, Kansas. “He’s just an extraordinary person… and I think he’s going to make us all very proud,” Trump added.

Kavanaugh will replace associate justice Anthony Kennedy who retired from the Supreme Court. While serving Kennedy helped pass votes on several social issues like abortion, affirmative action and LGBTQ rights. Kavanaugh’s confirmation ends a partisan struggle between Democrats and Republicans centering around Dr. Christine Blasey’s sexual assault allegations against Kavanaugh who accused him of assaulting her at a party when they were teenagers in the 1980’s.
