A new bride from Louisiana has died a week after returning home from her honeymoon in the Dominican Republic.

According to Daily Mail, Susan Simoneaux died on Tuesday in New Orleans after being rushed to hospital with fluid on her lungs.

Susan’s new husband, who is now a widower, Keith Williams, said he didn’t know about the eight Americans who died mysteriously of illnesses in the Dominican Republic over the past year.

“I would have never went if I would have known, “ Williams said.

Simoneaux died from similar symptoms as three other tourists who had recently visited the island. Now, as a result of recent events, the FBI has announced its testing samples from a popular resort’s mini bar to see if contaminated or counterfeit alcohol is to blame for the string of mysterious deaths on the island.

Louisiana Woman Dies After DR

Dr. Reynold Panettieri Jr., a Rutgers University vice-chancellor, told “Fox & Friends” that the FBI is conducting extensive tests to determine what may have caused at least nine people to die after visiting resorts in the Dominican Republic in the last year.

Dr. Panettieri theorizes that “Some of these individuals, couples dying with no pre-existing illness, really suggests a potential toxic exposure,” he said.

“Now that can be topical, ingested in the case of alcohol, or inhaled,” he continued. “Inhaled intoxicants could be odorless and colorless. So You wouldn’t know.”
