"Bridgerton" Is Finally Coming Back in 2027 — Here’s What Fans Can Expect From Season 5

“Bridgerton” fans finally got some good news after years of marathon waits between seasons. Netflix confirmed “Bridgerton” Season 5 will arrive in 2027, officially breaking the show’s frustrating two year release pattern.

The upcoming season will center on Francesca Bridgerton, played by Hannah Dodd, and Michaela Stirling, played by Masali Baduza. The story follows Francesca as she navigates grief after losing her husband John Stirling before unexpectedly finding herself drawn to Michaela. Netflix describes the new season as Francesca questioning whether to continue living according to duty or finally pursue what she truly wants.

The hit Netflix drama, created by Chris Van Dusen and produced by Shondaland, first premiered in 2020 and quickly became one of the streamer’s biggest global series. The show is based on Julia Quinn’s bestselling romance novels, with each season focusing on a different Bridgerton sibling’s love story.

Season 4 followed Benedict Bridgerton and Sophie Baek, while previous seasons centered on fan favorite couples including Daphne and Simon, Anthony and Kate, and Colin and Penelope.

Showrunner Jess Brownell also teased that Season 5 will lean heavily into “yearning” while making queer romance a central focus for the first time in the franchise. Netflix previously renewed the series through Season 6, meaning Eloise, Gregory, and Hyacinth’s stories are still waiting in the wings.
