BTS’ new album has sold a record 3.42 million in just its first week of preorders.

Last week, the South Korean pop music group announced it would be dropping its new album, ”Map of the Soul: 7,” which is set to drop on Feb. 21 and a single from the album will be available this Friday. However, fans clearly didn’t even need to listen to the album because they’ve already helped the group break the record for the most stock preorders for an album.

According to BTS’ management company, Big Hit Entertainment, ”Map of the Soul: 7” sold a record 3.42 million stock preorders in its first week of availability. Forbes reports that Big Hit shared a Naver News article that documented the number of orders from South Korean entertainment and distribution company Dreamus, which was once named iRiver.

This isn’t the first time BTS has made record-breaking moves, their last album ”Map of the Soul: Persona” sold 2.685 million preorders in its first five days. In 2018, BTS held the record as well for their album ”Love Yourself: Answer,” which sold 1.511 million preorders in its first week. ”Map of the Soul: 7” currently holds  the No.1 spot on Amazon’s Best Sellers in CDs and Vinyl list, behind that, is the ”Frozen 2” soundtrack, Lauren Daigle’s ”Look Up Child” and #OzzyOsbourne’s upcoming album, ”Ordinary Man.”

Not to mention, BTS is also raking up numbers on YouTube. The music group shared “Interlude: Shadow” comeback trailer last week to promote their forthcoming album, and the clip has already gained 40 million views.
