Hours after Donald Trump claimed that NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace owed his bosses at NASCAR an apology for sounding the alarm over a noose that was found in his garage, Beats by Dr.Dre announced that they had signed an endorsement deal with Wallace. The audio company, which is home to athletes such as Serena Williams and LeBron James, even took the liberty to stand with Wallace amid Trump, trolling him on Twitter.
“We weren’t going to announce this until later this week, but hate cannot win the day,” Beats by Dr.Dre wrote on Twitter. “No one should ever be asked to apologize for standing up for what’s right — we are proud to welcome @bubbawallace to the Beats by Dr. Dre family.”
To the news of the new endorsement deal, Bubba Wallace replied, “This is so dope! Honored to be a part of the family! If you know me, music is a strong passion of mine!”
The king himself even welcomed Wallace via Twitter.
“Welcome to the BEATS family @BubbaWallace,” Lebron James tweeted.
Wallace gained national attention after he found a noose in his team garage, prompting the launch of an FBI investigation into the incident. After conducting several interviews and a lengthy investigation, the FBI determined that “no crime was committed.” Instead, the “rope fashioned like a noose” was said to have been positioned in the garage since Fall 2019.
Now, Wallace is focused on moving forward and taking the high road against trolling comments from individuals like Trump. He has received support from several well-known athletes, including Lebron James.
The current NBA star tweeted his support for Wallace:
