Two employees at a Burger King in Epping, New Hampshire were arrested and charged after police said they sold marijuana through the drive thru window, according to reports from January 2017 that cite the New Hampshire Union Leader.
Police said they received multiple tips and ran an undercover operation on January 21. According to police, customers asked for an employee by a nickname and then ordered “fries extra crispy,” which police say was code for marijuana. Police said the drugs were handed over in a coffee cup with the order and were not put in the food.
Garrett, 20, was charged with possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute. Meagan, 19, a shift manager, was charged with conspiracy to distribute a controlled drug and unlawful possession of alcohol. Police believe she worked with Garrett to sell the drugs, but she has denied any involvement. Both are expected to be arraigned in late February.
The charges are allegations, and both employees are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court. Reports at the time did not include a response from Burger King.
